The bitmap drawing below shows the turning radius of a later model rehab wheelchair:
Later Rehab Wheelchair Turning Radius
The center of a modern rehab wheelchair's turning radius is at the mid-point of an imaginary line through the centers of the rear drive wheels. The outer edge of the radius is defined by the outer forward corners of the foot pedals and/or the user's feet. As mentioned previously, this can vary depending on how -- on wheelchairs so equipped -- the user has positioned the pedals at variable angles and how far forward of the wheelchair the edges of the pedals or the user's feet are at any given time.
