Question 1: What kind of terrain and how
much space, manuevering room, and time does a
wheelchair user or other person with a
disability need in order to board and disembark
from a transit vehicle at a bus stop or other
location and to manever and to ride on board
the transit vehicle itself?
To answer Question # 1, we need to evaluate
those factors involving wheelchairs:
- wheelchair size and configuration,
- how wheelchairs are maneuvered, and
- the challenges faced by wheelchair users in
the operation of their wheelchairs.
